Where we live From April throughout May the tiny Spring Beauties (Claytonia Virginica) bloom all around. It is a member of the Purslane family.
When they are in full bloom there is a light floral scent in the air that effects everyone in different ways:
Some become more contemplative by the aroma,
Some become more relaxed and sleepy,
And some will rediscover their inner child.
As with all things moderation is best, so it is a good thing that these flowers are in bloom for only 3 to 4 weeks!

A Cherry of a Dogs Thursday

The star magnolias are starting to turn brown. Their time is soon over but the weeping cherry is starting to bloom now.
The air is sweet with all the apple, cherry pear and magnolia blossoms everywhere.
My favorite part of spring is seeing all my favorites come into bloom.
Elise likes to smell and then taste a cherry flower petal each year.
Sometimes when we are at this tree she will stand under it and just sniff the air, again and again.
We had a very beautiful day yesterday.
Blue skies, 80 degrees and not a cloud in site.
We even had a special visitor at the lake.

A Dog At The End Of Day

In the evening when the man comes home he walks his dog in the acre wood.
Soon the sun will set behind the magnolia tree then it will be supper time.
On their walk they visit Mr. and Mrs. Wood and Mr. and Mrs Mallard at the pond and bid them a polite "Good Evening" and ask them how their day was.
"Quite a gray day this day was." says Mr. Mallard "Very choppy in the channel." said Mrs. Mallard.
"The sun is seeetting, beeetter get to your nest." said the Geese in trio.
No color in the setting sky of a rainy day means more storms tonight.
"We better head home to supper then." Says Mr. Bassetknitter
